Payments & Platform Fees
How payments are processed and what fees apply to online and direct payments.
1. Two ways to pay
Businesses on MyBiznest choose which payment methods they accept. There are two categories, and they are treated very differently.
Pay through MyBiznest: an online card payment processed by Stripe. MyBiznest holds a verified record of the payment, so it can be confirmed, reconciled, and refunded through the platform.
Pay the business directly: cash, external payment apps, bank transfer, or a card payment the business processes on its own equipment. The money never passes through MyBiznest.
2. MyBiznest service fee
When you pay online through MyBiznest, a MyBiznest service fee is added to the business's price and shown to you as a separate line before you pay. The total you approve at checkout is the total you are charged.
The service fee is retained by MyBiznest for operating the platform. It is not charged on cash or other direct-to-business payments, and it is not charged on business subscription plans.
Businesses receive their listed price for online payments, less the payment processing costs charged by our payment provider. If an order or booking is refunded, the service fee is refunded in the same proportion as the refunded amount.
3. Payment processing
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout and are never stored by MyBiznest.
Stripe charges the business a processing fee on each successful payment. That fee is deducted from the business's payout and is recorded against the transaction so the business can see its true net amount.
Businesses accepting online payments hold a Stripe connected account in their own name and are paid out by Stripe on Stripe's schedule, subject to Stripe's terms and verification requirements.
4. Authorisation and confirmation
For online payments, a booking or order is only confirmed once Stripe confirms the payment succeeded. Slots and stock reserved during checkout are released if payment is not completed within the hold window.
Declined, abandoned, or expired checkouts do not create a payment and do not count as money owed to anyone.
5. Refund eligibility
Only payments successfully processed through MyBiznest using Stripe are eligible for refund processing through MyBiznest.
Payments made directly to a business or outside MyBiznest — including cash, external payment apps, bank transfers, or independently processed card payments — are not processed, verified, monitored, or tracked by MyBiznest and are not eligible for refunds through MyBiznest.
Any refund involving an off-platform payment must be handled directly between the customer and the business.
Being eligible for a refund does not guarantee a refund. Refunds remain subject to the applicable business refund and cancellation policy, the MyBiznest terms, Stripe and card-network requirements, and applicable law.
Direct and off-platform payments are always labelled as processed outside MyBiznest and are never shown as paid through MyBiznest.
6. Currency, taxes, and receipts
Prices are shown in the currency set by the business. Your bank may apply its own conversion or foreign transaction fees, which MyBiznest does not control.
Businesses are responsible for charging, collecting, and remitting any sales tax, VAT, or GST that applies to what they sell, and for issuing invoices where required.
For online payments, MyBiznest shows a breakdown of the business price, the MyBiznest service fee, and the total charged. Receipts are also available from Stripe.
7. Fee changes
Fee rates may change. The rate in force at the time of your transaction is the rate applied, and it is always displayed before you pay.
The version number and effective date at the top of this page show the current release of this policy. Questions can be sent to support through the MyBiznest Help Center.
